Role and Responsibilities
  • Maintain campus safety and investigate suspicious activities.
  • Provide protection for persons, facilities, and property.
  • Patrol campus areas via foot, bike, or vehicle.
  • Enforce laws and college policies.
  • Make arrests, search persons, and handle emergencies.
  • Investigate crimes, interview witnesses, and preserve crime scenes.
  • Enforce traffic regulations and assist with vehicle issues.
  • Operate law enforcement equipment and perform related duties.
  • Participate in community engagement and special programs.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of MPTC-approved basic training.
  • Pass physical and psychological evaluations.
  • Clear background checks and pass POST exam.
  • Possess or able to obtain a Class A firearm license.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and strong communication skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to handle stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with police dispatching software or CJIS technology.
  • Additional language skills.
Compensation

Biweekly salary: $2,138.04 (Grade 16), with promotion to Grade 17 after training; starting at $2,476.22 if already trained.

Additional Information
