Job summary

Bishop State Community College is seeking a Police Officer to provide campus security, patrols, and emergency response across all campus locations. The role requires an active APOST certification, a valid Alabama driver license, and prior police experience.

The officer will enforce laws and college policies, document incidents, and assist in emergencies while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct. Flex hours and ongoing training are expected.

Qualifications

• Must upload copy of transcript in application packet.
• Must upload copy of APOST Certification in application packet.

Responsibilities

• Provide campus security and law enforcement protection.
• Provide foot and vehicular patrol of campus.
• Safeguard students, staff, and campus property.
• Respond to and investigate incidents on campus, including accidents and crimes.
• Document and preserve evidence and provide testimony as needed.
• Issue tickets for campus parking violations.
• Carry approved weapon and maintain qualification as required by APOST.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Campus Police Chief or President.
