Job summary

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Successful completion of a State certified Peace Officer basic training program, or able to transfer an out of state certification.
• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license, and maintain the license per university policy.
• Must be a United States citizen.
• Background must be free of felony convictions.
• Successful completion of all phases of the Selection Process, including physical and psychological examinations.

Responsibilities

• Patrols campus buildings and property to maintain security and safety.
• Directs and regulates traffic.
• Investigates conditions indicating a crime may occur or has occurred.
• Conducts investigations, preserves crime scenes, and gathers evidence.
• Maintains records and prepares incident reports.
• Issues citations for traffic violations.
• Collaborates with campus authorities to provide disciplinary interventions where needed.
• Arrests suspects and participates in transporting prisoners.
• Testifies in court when required.

Education
