Job summary

St. Edward's University in Austin, TX seeks a Police Officer to patrol, investigate, and enforce laws and university regulations in support of campus safety and community trust.

The role requires readiness to work rotating shifts and respond to calls, with a focus on protecting people and property. Qualified applicants will hold a Texas Police Officer License (TCOLE), be 21+, possess a valid Texas Driver's License, pass a physical agility test, and complete background checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Police Officer License issued by TCOLE.
• Be 21 years or older at the time of employment.
• Possess a valid Texas Class C Driver's License with a good driving record.
• No convictions of class B or higher misdemeanor.
• Able to pass a Physical Agility Test and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Represent the university in a professional and courteous manner.
• Proactively patrol to protect university property, prevent crime, and investigate activities.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency radio calls and investigate violations.
• Enforce applicable laws and university regulations.
• Conduct follow-up investigations and prepare cases for court.
• Testify as a witness when called, and provide directions and aid.
• Open and close facilities and perform other duties as required.
