Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington seeks a skilled plumber to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plumbing and steam systems across campus. You will service boilers, chillers, water softeners, valves, and pumps, install pipe assemblies, and perform tests and inspections using sewer cameras and related equipment.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 5 years journey-level experience or DOL apprenticeship, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (HSED or GED).
• 5 years of verifiable journey level experience; OR Certified in relevant DOL apprenticed trade.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Indiana University upon date of hire.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs plumbing and steam systems across campus.
• Servicing, testing, inspections, and repairs on equipment including boilers, chillers, water softeners, and valves.
• Assembles pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, caulking, and soldering.
• Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, pumps, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Performs on-call emergency response and supports snow removal as needed.
