Job summary

Indiana University Health in Lafayette is seeking a skilled Plumber/Plumbing Technician to install, troubleshoot and repair hospital plumbing and pipefitting systems onsite at 2600 Greenbush. You will read drawings, prepare estimates, and ensure compliance with codes and Joint Commission regulations.

We require a plumbing certification or Journeyman card, a high school diploma or GED, and a minimum of two years’ related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Plumbing certification, Journeyman's card or relevant vocational degree required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local codes and Joint Commission regulations.
• May be required to furnish own hand tools.
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates, installs, troubleshoots and repairs plumbing or pipefitting systems.
• Works from engineering drawings, sketches and specifications.
• Measures, cuts, threads and installs pipes and fittings with hand/power tools.
• Completes calculations and measurements to ensure pipes function correctly.
• Performs ordering and estimating of jobs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
