Job summary

Berklee College of Music in Boston is seeking a Piano Technician I to keep Berklee's pianos at peak performance across teaching studios, classrooms, and practice spaces. The role reports to the Director for Piano and Keyboard Services and combines technical tuning, voicing, regulation, and preventive care with a student-centered mission.

You will consult with faculty and students to troubleshoot instrument issues, collaborate with multiple campus departments, and maintain logs and schedules,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a piano technician; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Piano Technicians Guild Associate certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of music terms and notation.

Responsibilities

• Execute tuning, voicing, regulation, and action refurbishing for acoustic pianos.
• Assist with digital piano maintenance and climate control systems.
• Collaborate with Concert Operations, Academic Affairs, Music Production & Engineering, and other divisions.
• Maintain accurate daily work logs and coordinate schedules, including some nights or weekends.
• Stay current on keyboard technologies and maintain certifications.
