Job summary

Berklee College of Music in Boston seeks a Piano Technician I to maintain and service acoustic pianos across teaching studios, classrooms and rehearsal spaces. The role reports to the Director for Piano and Keyboard Services and supports faculty, staff, and students with specialized tuning, voicing, regulation and preventive maintenance.

You will collaborate with campus operations, music production and engineering teams, manage daily work logs, and occasionally work nights or weekends to meet

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in piano technology preferred.
  • Piano Technicians Guild Associate Certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of music terms and notation.
  • Familiar with tuning software and related Apple tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills under deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

  • Tuning, voicing, regulation and maintenance for acoustic pianos.
  • Support digital piano and keyboard maintenance; climate control.
  • Consult with faculty and students to resolve instrument issues.
  • Collaborate with Concert Operations and other divisions for events.
  • Maintain daily logs and coordinate schedules, including nights/weekends.
