Job summary

Phillips Exeter Academy seeks a Temporary Painter/Carpenter to maintain and preserve interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring a clean, safe campus appearance. You will perform lead-safe painting, basic carpentry, and现场 tasks across buildings and structures.

The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule, through mid-December or early January. Requires lifting up to 50 lbs and adherence to EPA lead-safe practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years painting experience.
• Familiarity working on scaffolding, staging, bucket trucks and ladders.
• Proper knowledge of working with lead-based paint.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform work in a safe and professional manner.
• Repair surfaces before painting; fill holes and cracks.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, brushing, sanding, or sealing.
• Roll, brush, or spray paint on exterior and interior surfaces.
• Apply finish spray painting in spray booth using HVLP guns.
• Tint paints and maintain color dispenser.
• Protect work areas against overspray.
• Disassemble, refinish, and move furniture as needed.
• Erect ladders and scaffolding as required.
• Maintain painting tools and equipment.
• Perform lead testing and follow EPA/RRP lead-safe practices.
• Identify restoration projects, develop work scope, and document records.
• Attend EPA lead-safe training to become a Certified Renovator.
• Operate CMMS to receive, document, and complete work orders.
• Observe and report defects via CMMS; other duties as assigned.
