Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking a Director of Operations for Kenyon College in Gambier, OH. The role leads guest experience, culinary operations, labor scheduling, inventory, marketing and profitability, with a focus on exceptional service and cost control.

You will plan and delegate responsibilities, oversee budgeting, ordering, hiring, and staff development, and present at client meetings. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and union-relations understanding, with opportunities

Qualifications

• At least three years of management experience, including client interaction.
• Campus catering/large-scale event experience preferred.
• Understanding of union and labor relations.
• Strong operations background across food service and multi-unit functions.
• Proven track record in developing teams and achieving results.
• Financial acumen from budgeting to results interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and leadership to deliver outstanding guest experience and profitable operations.
• Plan, communicate, and delegate responsibilities to ensure consistent excellence.
• Assist in preparing budgets and maintaining cost controls for the program.
• Direct the ordering, receiving and accounting of all food products, supplies and equipment.
• Oversee hiring, training, and scheduling to minimize turnover and maximize performance.
• Create and lead client meeting presentations.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration across staff.
