Job summary

The Nurse Practitioner at the University of New England's Student Health Services in Biddeford, ME provides comprehensive care to university students in collaboration with the health team. The NP independently evaluates and manages acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice and applicable law, emphasizing accessible, confidential, student-centered care.

Responsibilities include preventive care, immunizations, counseling, and coordination with Counseling Services and specialists.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Current unrestricted Maine APRN license.
• Active DEA registration.
• Clinical competence in routine care and adolescent/young-adult medicine, urgent care, or outpatient settings.
• Ability to exercise independent clinical judgment and recognize conditions needing consultation.
• Experience using an electronic health record and familiarity with clinical documentation and billing.
• Current CPR BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate, treat and manage acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
• Provide preventive health services, screenings, and health education.
• Coordinate care with Counseling Services and outside providers as indicated.
• Educate students on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and self-management.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality and documentation.
