Job summary

Fayetteville State University seeks a Nurse Practitioner to deliver high-quality primary care in the Student Health Clinic. The NP evaluates, diagnoses, and manages acute and chronic conditions, provides preventive care, and supports student well-being and academic success.

The role collaborates with physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, and campus partners, and requires state NP licensure, DEA, and board certification in family or adult health.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited NP program.
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult NP (ANP).
• Current, unrestricted state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
• DEA registration.
• CPR (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in primary or college health settings.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including patient history and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, including minor injuries, respiratory infections, gynecological issues, and mental health concerns.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, EKGs, and imaging.
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state licensure and collaborative agreements.
• Provide health counseling and education on contraception, nutrition, substance use, sexual health, and stress management.
• Support campus immunization compliance and vaccination efforts; participate in public health initiatives.
