Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an Environmental Services Specialist-Campus (Night) to perform routine and major cleaning in public and private campus spaces, respond to spills, and maintain cleanliness per schedule.

You will work nights, operate cleaning equipment, restock supplies, and interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred; HS diploma or GED is acceptable. This position is on-site with a starting hourly rate of $15.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and major cleaning duties in campus spaces.
• Responds to spills or accidents and maintains cleanliness to schedule.
• Vacuuming carpets, sweeping hard floors, and mopping as needed.
• Restocks paper, soap, and cleaning supplies throughout shifts.
• Cleans and disinfects surfaces; maintains high-traffic areas.
• Communicates professionally with students, visitors and coworkers.
