Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University seeks a Network Engineer I to install, maintain, and evaluate campus network systems and communications equipment. You will serve as the primary administrator of the Teams Telephony environment and support network operations across the university.

Responsibilities include coordinating patching, backups, configuration, troubleshooting, and documenting processes. A Bachelor’s degree or four years of related experience is required, with preferred IT certifications and

Qualifications

• Four years of directly related full-time experience or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience operating a PC and proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates operational activities for maintaining network systems and communications services including patching, backups, configuration, updates, and documentation.
• Participates in installation and maintenance of network communications equipment.
• Troubleshoots network issues within established guidelines.
• Develops new techniques and procedures to enhance university networking and communications services.
• Serves as escalation point for Teams Telecommunications tickets and tracks tickets in the work order system.
