Job summary

LSU is seeking a skilled vehicle operator to operate and maintain campus motor vehicles and rolling equipment for transportation, maintenance, and construction tasks. This position is designated as essential personnel, requiring availability for campus emergencies after hours and during closures.

A current Driver's License is required, along with the ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift heavy loads. Excellent English communication skills are needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Driver's License and be able to operate and maintain campus vehicles and rolling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret a Greater New Orleans metropolitan road map.
• Must work outdoors in all weather and lift 50 pounds or more as required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and work with others.

Responsibilities

• Properly and safely operate campus equipment including Bobcat tractor, passenger van, pickups and service trucks.
• Transport parts, materials, and coworkers between campus locations as needed.
• Perform exterior cleaning, grounds and field maintenance as assigned.
• Assist other departments with work orders and maintenance tasks.
