Job summary

The Appalachian Wesley Foundation seeks a Campus Minister to lead campus ministry efforts at Appalachian State University and Caldwell Community College. This is a salaried, full-time role averaging 40+ hours per week with additional events and mission trips, reporting to the Board of Directors.

The appointee preaches, provides pastoral care, and guides ministry operations. Qualified candidates are ordained or to be ordained elders in the UMC, with a passion for ministry to young adults and

Qualifications

• Disciple of Jesus Christ and faithful witness of God’s love.
• Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church (or soon to be ordained).
• Passion for ministry with young adults and proven effectiveness.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with young adults.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership and administration.
• Proficiency with A/V technology and social media.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily affairs of Appalachian Wesley Foundation and supervise staff and volunteers.
• Preach and teach the Word of God, provide pastoral care and counseling.
• Administer sacraments of baptism and Holy Communion.
• Lead fundraising and strategic development for campus ministry.
• Coordinate events, retreats, mission trips, and campus ministry initiatives.
