Job summary

Indiana University’s Student Academic Center is hiring mathematics tutors to assist introductory-level math courses across campus, including residence halls and satellite locations. This in-person, part-time role offers about 6–9 hours per week at $15.00 per hour, with evening residential tutoring from Monday to Thursday 7:00 PM–10:00 PM in Bloomington.

Applicants must be IU students who have completed undergraduate math courses (calculus, statistics, linear algebra).

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled IU student with math coursework including calculus II/III, statistics and/or linear algebra.
• Prefers having taken finite mathematics and/or the B110 business math course.
• Preferred tutoring or teaching experience, paid or volunteer.

Responsibilities

• Tutor college-age students by teaching concepts and providing homework help for introductory level math courses.
• Serve as informational resource for SAC visitors and provide general academic information.
• Mentor student visitors and staff to create a welcoming learning experience.
