Job summary

CSU Stanislaus is seeking a temporary hourly Work Study student assistant for Strategic Communications and Marketing. The role supports internal communications, social media, events, and content creation across newsletters, video scripts, and marketing materials.

You will draft content, assist with photography and video projects, design flyers, and help distribute news releases. Availability Aug 2026–May 2027; $17.00/hour; IOPEN UNTIL FILLED.

Qualifications

• Completed or working toward a college degree in a related field
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Experience or interest in marketing or communications is preferred
• Knowledge of social media tools and platforms
• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; HTML knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and publishing internal communications, including newsletters
• Draft content to support communications and marketing plans
• Collaborate on video marketing projects
• Assist with photo sessions and event photography
• Write and manage content for video scripts, social media, blogs, and marketing materials
• Draft and distribute news releases, media alerts, and other stories
• Design flyers, graphics, and other marketing materials for programs and events
• Contribute to Stanislaus State’s social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
• Attend monthly marketing and communications committee meetings
• Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions and channels for marketing and communications
• Support tabling events to engage students, faculty, staff and alumni
• Assist with setup and production of marketing functions at university events
• Other duties as assigned
