Job summary

Friends University is seeking a maintenance technician to perform general maintenance and repairs across campus buildings and off-campus housing. The role includes diagnosing mechanical issues, repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC and other systems, and handling basic carpentry and painting tasks.

Frequent travel to off-campus sites and participation in special events are required, with on-call duties on rotation and possible 2nd shift as requested.

Qualifications

• Three years general maintenance experience is required.
• Experience with utility vehicles and basic hand tools is needed.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair of campus buildings and off campus houses.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and perform minor repairs on equipment and building components.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of facility plumbing, electrical, HVAC and other systems.
• Perform aesthetic and structural maintenance, including basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and snow removal.
• On-call duty on a rotation basis.
• Travel to off-campus sites as needed.
• Participate in special events (graduation, homecoming, etc.) and 2nd shift as requested.
