Job summary

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to support maintenance and repair across the Valdosta and Cook Campuses. The role covers HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and exterior upkeep with emphasis on safety and reliable facilities.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and assisting with events and special projects. Strong computer skills for work orders and training are required, with opportunities for staff development.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year in a skilled trade (electrical, carpentry, plumbing) or building maintenance.
• Ability to stand, bend, walk, and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work flexible hours and in confined spaces and at heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs across the campus facilities.
• Maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and exterior upkeep.
• Use tools, equipment, and materials in safe working practices; access work order systems.
