Job summary

Harvard University is hiring a full-time Locksmith for campus-wide facilities support in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The position is fully on-site and pays $50.82 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday off. The Locksmith installs, repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots mechanical and electronic locking systems across Harvard-designated locations, including master key systems and high-security hardware.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of locksmith experience.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, email, and smartphones.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic locking systems across Harvard-designated locations.
• Manage master key systems, high-security hardware, access control, doors, safes, and vault locking mechanisms.
• Keep key-system and hardware records; support safety standards and customer service.
• Collaborate with trades and facilities staff to meet campus needs.
