Job summary

College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University is inviting applications for a part-time Security Officer. In this role, you will patrol campus areas and ensure the safety of the community while responding to emergencies and reporting hazards.

The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma and a valid vehicle operator's license. Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly is essential, alongside some computer skills and the potential for Emergency Medical Responder certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Valid vehicle operators license (Minnesota-class D).
• Have or be eligible for certification in Emergency Medical Responder level/CPR.
• Capable of periods of prolonged physical activity including walking, running and standing.
• Computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for regular assigned patrol duties either on foot, bicycle, or motor vehicle.
• Patrol of buildings and grounds for security, safety, and order.
• Provide emergency assistance and report hazardous conditions.
• Assist guests, students, employees, and members of the monastic community.
• Respond to fire calls, medical emergencies, and security breaches.
• Investigate traffic accidents and enforce parking regulations.
• Testify at judicial proceedings when required.
• Prepare required departmental reports and records.
