Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of landscape maintenance.
• CMU Motorized Utility Vehicle operator certification within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to work safely and with limited supervision.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, trim, sweep, rake, fertilize, seed, water, aerate and maintain landscape areas.
• Prune and care for trees, shrubs, and hedges; dispose of plant material as needed.
• Maintain landscape beds through weeding, pruning and mulching.
• Plant turf, trees, shrubs, and flowers; monitor plant health and take corrective actions.
• Inspect plants for damage and address issues.
• Manage athletic areas and synthetic turf; operate irrigation systems.
• Safely operate a range of equipment and load/unload vehicles.
• Coordinate with staff on projects and use of equipment.
• Assist with snow and ice removal operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
