Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or a related field.
• Knowledge of various plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers suitable for the local climate.
• Understanding of soil types, fertilization, weed & pest control, and irrigation.
• Knowledge of chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, etc., and how to safely mix and apply them.
• Familiarity with gardening tools and equipment including hand tools and power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plants, fertilizes, weeds, prunes, repots, waters, and mulches plants, shrubs, and trees.
• Inspects plants for health and signs of disease or pests.
• Operates maintenance equipment and power tools.
• Manages irrigation and hydration of lawns, trees, and plants.
• Delivers and spreads topsoil or straw on newly seeded areas.
• Maintains clean work areas and performs other related duties.
