Job summary

Colby College is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain and repair all mechanical systems and temperature control work across the campus. This full-time permanent role includes benefits and reports to the Supervisor of Mechanical and Electrical Services.

The starting rate is $24.00 per hour. The position requires safe operation of tools, teamwork with departmental staff, emergency response ability, and a valid Maine driver’s license with the appropriate refrigerant/electrical licenses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Maine Driver's License required with one of the listed licenses.
• Mechanical knowledge to operate institutional systems.
• Ability to read and understand plans and technical docs.
• Computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates tools and equipment to perform duties.
• Responds to emergency calls and plans remedies.
• Inspect, maintain, and service HVAC equipment and controls.
• Maintain EMS records, PM and CMMS updates.
• Coordinate work with other trades and departments.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
