Job summary

UW-Eau Claire is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to maintain and repair campus heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, water systems, and associated equipment. The role requires EPA 608 certification and solid HVAC trade experience, including PC-based controls and safety compliance.

You will perform preventive maintenance, monitor EMS/DDC systems, and support campus facilities with reliable service and documentation. Compensation is $30-$32 per hour, with a regular, on-site schedule.

Qualifications

• EPA Section 608 Technician certification (Universal Refrigerant Handling).
• Professional experience in HVAC trade.
• Installing, maintaining and repairing HVAC/R systems and equipment.
• Working on computerized and digital HVAC systems including DDCs.
• Safety-conscious and able to work both independently and in a team.
• Organizing and prioritizing work assignments.
• Providing customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative and routine maintenance on HVAC systems and controls.
• Repair, maintain, and overhaul building heating and air conditioning systems.
• Monitor, test, and adjust water, steam, and HVAC systems as needed.
• Operate and troubleshoot EMS/DDC systems and respond to alarms.
• Assist with maintenance of kitchen, laboratory, and plumbing systems.
• Provide guidance to maintenance personnel on operation and maintenance tasks.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
