Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Groundskeeper for Millikin University in Decatur, IL. This role maintains and improves university grounds, performing mowing, trimming, leaf removal, snow removal and other duties to keep outdoor spaces safe and attractive.

Responsibilities include applying sustainable design, operating lawn equipment, and performing routine maintenance. The position requires a valid non-commercial driver’s license and ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundskeeping or horticulture preferred.
• Valid non-commercial driver’s license required.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Able to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve facility grounds based on sustainability guidelines.
• Apply planned designs to resolve landscaping needs.
• Perform tasks such as planting, mowing, weeding, fertilizing, sweeping, raking, salting, shoveling snow, removing ice, and more.
• Operate power mowers, saws, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, sprayers, etc.
• May be required to operate trucks, tractors and attachments used to maintain grounds as needed.
• Responsible for cleaning and upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, etc.
• Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on lawn equipment and tools.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and report any malfunctions/defects to supervisor immediately.
