Job summary

Lincoln Public Schools in Lincoln, Rhode Island is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain safe, sanitary athletics and school facilities for students, staff, and the public. You will perform daily cleaning, routine maintenance, and support for events across all schools.

Essential duties include lawn care, landscaping, field preparation for PE and athletics, equipment operation, and minor repairs as directed by the facilities leadership.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety practices and use of custodial equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for long periods.
• Reliability, punctuality and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Keep buildings and premises neat and clean according to schedules and checklists.
• Cut grass around all school buildings and trim hedges, shrubs, and trees.
• Plant flowers and maintain landscaping as directed.
• Rake leaves and grass cuttings; landscape as needed.
• Operate riding and push mowers and line marking machines.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and report repairs promptly.
