Job summary

Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, is seeking a Groundskeeper to perform skilled and unskilled tasks across the campus grounds and interior planting support. You will maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, fences, and pathways, including snow removal and seasonal planting, while ensuring safety and efficiency.

The role requires a valid driver's license, at least one year of grounds experience, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year grounds experience or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of groundskeeping operations and equipment.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with supervisor, coworkers and students.
• Must be neat in appearance.
• Must be able to lift and carry 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lawn care including seeding, mowing, fertilizing, and weed control.
• Yard waste removal and maintenance of trees, shrubs, flowers.
• Leaf removal, fences, walkways, and site drainage upkeep.
• Snow removal and de-icing during winter conditions.
• General site maintenance of exterior facilities and equipment.
