Job summary

University of Redlands is seeking a Groundsworker for Facilities Management. The role covers care and maintenance of 160 acres, including mowing, edging, pruning, and irrigation. The position is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with occasional evenings or weekends and immediate availability.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least one year of landscape maintenance experience, plus a valid California driver’s license. Training and safety procedures are emphasized in daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in care and maintenance of landscaped areas or related grounds work.
• A valid California Class C driver's license with a good driving record is required; out-of-state licenses are valid until appointment; must obtain CA license within ten days of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, edge, water, fertilize, and weed campus lawns and landscape areas.
• Prepare areas, lay sod and sow seed; aerate and irrigate turf as needed.
• PICK up litter and maintain campus appearance.
• Maintain trees, shrubs, and hedges; prune, water, and weed as required.
• Operate grounds equipment such as ride-on mowers, tractors, loaders, and hand tools.
• Report unsafe conditions and follow safety policies; work overtime as needed.
