Job summary

Fordham University is seeking a Groundsperson to maintain campus grounds, roadways, walkways, and landscapes across its campuses. The role performs mowing, trimming, leaf removal, trash collection, pruning, planting, fertilizing, and basic tree care while supporting indoor/outdoor events.

The position requires a High School diploma, at least 2 years of grounds experience, and a valid NYS driver’s license. Work Tue–Sat, 6:00 am–2:30 pm, with union Local 810 affiliation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of grounds or related duties.
• Valid New York State driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains campus grounds, roadways, walkways, parking lots, and landscape.
• Mows lawns, trims weeds, and rakes leaves as assigned.
• Picks up trash and empties containers; trims shrubs and trees as needed.
• Operates power equipment and uses fertilizers/herbicides as directed.
• Assists in snow removal and setup for events as required.
