Job summary

The University of Utah’s Health Sciences District campus in Salt Lake City is seeking Gardeners to maintain landscapes and support safe, visually appealing grounds. Qualifications

• Gardener I requires little to no related experience.
• Gardener II requires at least 1 year of related experience.
• Gardener III requires 3+ years of related experience.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Ability to be on a rotational on-call duty for snow operations.
• Equivalency statement: 1 year of higher education can substitute for 1 year of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine landscape maintenance including trimming, edging, weeding, watering, mulching, planting, and debris removal.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on landscaping tools and equipment.
• Assist with irrigation inspections, repairs, and watering schedules under supervision.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to new or entry-level gardening staff.
