Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Parkside is seeking a Year-Round Grounds Maintenance Specialist to maintain campus lawns, landscaping, trees, planting areas, walkways, and parking lots throughout the year. This hands-on role uses a variety of grounds and snow-removal equipment to perform landscaping, planting, lawn care, snow and ice removal, and seasonal maintenance.

The position reports to Facilities Management Building and involves a Monday to Friday schedule, with a starting rate of $17.00 per hour

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Hold and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and remedies plant diseases and insect damage.
• Implements chemical and fertilizer programs.
• Installs and maintains plants and landscaping using a variety of equipment.
• Keeps lawns, walkways, roads, and parking lots clean and debris-free.
• Constructs lawn and landscaping projects including soil grading, seeding, and sodding.
