Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point seeks a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Technician to support campus landscaping as part of the Grounds team. The role is a student hourly position with seasonal hours up to 40 in summer and up to 25 during the school year.

Base wage is $11.50/hr with on-campus housing available if working at least 30 hours/week. Under the supervision of Grounds Leads and the Grounds Manager, you will perform planting, pruning, mowing, weeding, litter pickup, and assisting with

Qualifications

• Possess a high degree of interest in the care and maintenance of landscape vegetation.
• Professional initiative, including a willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Full time student status.
• Good academic standing (GPA 2.50 or higher).
• Past experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Recycling Dept. as needed.
• Prepare, plant, and maintain flowerbeds and planters.
• Plant and prune trees and shrubs.
• General maintenance including mowing grass, weeding, trimming, pruning, watering, fertilizing, etc.
• Picking up litter and debris.
• Implementation of new landscape designs.
• Understand and promote the concept that individual efforts contribute to the UWSP grounds program.
• Help create awareness and respect for the University landscape with residents, students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
• Any other duties requested by the Grounds Leads.
