Job summary

Purdue University Fort Wayne is seeking a Groundskeeper in the Grounds department. This full-time nonseasonal role includes benefits with a pay rate of $14.70 per hour.

Responsibilities include maintaining campus lawns, pruning shrubs, fertilizing, mowing, and operating landscape equipment. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 2+ years in ground maintenance and pesticide duties preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in ground maintenance (shrub pruning, pesticide application, cleanliness).
• Basic/intermediate skills in landscape renovation and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, fertilize, weed, and maintain lawns and grounds.
• Prepare areas for seed or sod; lay sod and sow seed.
• Operate riding mowers, carts, rototillers, lawn sweepers, and aerators.
• Maintain trees and shrubs; pruning and watering as needed.
• Plant, trim, and prune hedges and flowerbeds.
• Keep records and operate/maintain landscape equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
