Job summary

The University of Southern California (USC) Facilities Planning & Management is hiring an Entry Groundskeeper to perform-entry level landscape tasks on campus in Glendale, CA. You will operate battery-powered tools, assist with plant installation, and log work orders in the maintenance system as part of a collaborative team.

Minimum qualifications include 6 months of groundskeeping experience, basic gardening knowledge, and a valid California driver's license.

Qualifications

6 months of experience in groundskeeping or similar duties
Basic knowledge of gardening and grounds maintenance
Familiarity with standard safety practices and equipment
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Knowledge of applicable laws, policies and principles
Ability to operate handheld battery-powered tools and non-power tools
Ability to operate a computer and/or smart device for company applications
Defensive driving skills
Valid CA driver's license with 2 years driving experience and DMV Pull Notice System involvement

Responsibilities

Operates and maintains battery-operated tools and other equipment (e.g., leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, lawnmowers)
May train with other employees in specific skills and tasks as required
Performs entry-level landscape maintenance tasks and maintains campus landscape
Participates in plant installation and plant materials placement
Uses facilities maintenance system to log work orders, time, and notes
Contributes to a respectful workplace culture per USC Code of Ethics
Performs other duties as assigned or requested
