Job summary

Maricopa County Community College District in Glendale is seeking a Groundskeeper to perform a full range of grounds maintenance and gardening duties across campus facilities. The role includes lawn care, irrigation upkeep, and field setup for events, under the supervision of the Grounds Supervisor.

Essential tasks include operating grounds equipment, maintaining athletic fields, and performing related landscaping projects, with seasonal scheduling and outdoor work conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak at a level suitable for job duties.
• Valid Arizona Class D driver's license required; meets driving standards.
• Prior grounds maintenance experience on large campuses preferred.
• Experience with irrigation systems and athletic field prep preferred (NJCAA related)

Responsibilities

• Mows lawns, trims trees, fertilizes, maintains irrigation systems, waters, and cleans walkways.
• Maintains athletic fields and sets up facilities for events and games.
• Digs trenches, cultivates, plants/transplants, spreads mulch, and manages leaves/debris.
• Operates grounds equipment such as tractors, mowers, edgers, trimmers, spreaders, and aerators.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
