Job summary

The Grounds Supervisor at University of Kentucky is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising daily grounds maintenance, parking structures, and exterior facilities. The role ensures safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, with oversight of parking structure cleaning, snow removal, and event support.

Qualifications

• Prior grounds experience is required.
• Experience supervising grounds staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, supervise, and evaluate the daily work of grounds personnel.
• Develop work schedules and prioritize assignments to ensure efficient completion of daily, seasonal, and emergency operations.
• Conduct routine inspections of parking structures, sidewalks, parking lots, and campus grounds to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
• Train employees on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, customer service expectations, and departmental policies.
• Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, direction, and performance feedback.
• Maintain employee attendance records, work schedules, equipment logs, inspection reports, and daily activity documentation.
