Job summary

St. Paul Academy and Summit School in Saint Paul, MN seeks a Grounds Supervisor to manage the Grounds department across two campuses.

The position is full-time, exempt, in-person, reporting to the Director of Operations and Security, with responsibilities including supervising grounds staff, scheduling maintenance, budgeting, and coordinating with contractors. The ideal candidate will have related landscape management experience, education in landscape technology or horticulture, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Minimum of an A.A. degree in landscape technology, horticulture, landscape design, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in a landscape-related field.
• Minimum three years grounds experience under supervision.
• Two years supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of Grounds staff and part-time employees.
• Plan, organize, and supervise grounds projects and activities (turf, plant beds, trees, athletic fields, sidewalks, and parking areas).
• Coordinate ordering and delivery of plant material, supplies, and equipment.
• Direct and supervise contracts for trash hauling, landscape maintenance, and snow removal.
• Assist with capital projects planning, budgeting, and contractor selection.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
