Job summary

St. Paul Academy and Summit School in Saint Paul, MN, seeks a Grounds Supervisor to manage the Grounds department across two campuses. The role requires planning, organizing, and scheduling grounds activities to ensure timely, efficient execution.

Reporting to Operations leadership, you will supervise staff, coordinate contractors, and help manage annual budgets. The position is in-person, full-time, with a salary range of $65,000–$70,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an AA degree in landscape technology, horticulture, landscape design, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in a landscape-related field from an accredited college or university.
• Preferred minimum of three years’ grounds experience under qualified supervision.
• Preferred minimum of two years’ supervising a crew.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; strong English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of Grounds Technician and part-time staff; prioritize and schedule seasonal projects.
• Plan and supervise campus grounds projects including turf, plant beds, trees, athletic fields, sidewalks, snow removal, and fertilization.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate purchasing of plants, supplies, and equipment per SPA procedures.
• Direct and supervise trash hauling, landscape maintenance, snow removal contracts; liaise with contractors.
