Job summary

Rockhurst High School is seeking a Groundskeeper to join our facilities team. You will perform mowing, trimming, pruning and routine landscape care to keep the campus attractive and safe year-round.

Responsibilities include preparing grounds for events, maintaining equipment, and supporting snow removal. The role requires physical stamina, valid driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic landscaping, turf care, and grounds maintenance techniques.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and power equipment (mowers, trimmers, edgers).
• Willingness to learn proper use of fertilizers, pesticides and other chemicals.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting for equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular groundskeeping services including mowing, edging, trimming, weed control, fertilization, pruning.
• Maintain campus grounds, tidy trash/debris and assist with stadium/field care.
• Prepare grounds for assemblies and events; setup and teardown as needed.
• Operate equipment safely and report any damage or unsafe conditions.
• Support snow/ice removal and general maintenance tasks as assigned.
