Job summary

Lexington City Schools is seeking a Groundskeeper for the Lexington, North Carolina campus to maintain school grounds and related facilities. Responsibilities include mowing, edging, pruning, planting, irrigation, and operating lawn equipment in accordance with established maintenance schedules.

Under supervision of the Director of Building Services, you will perform a variety of landscape tasks, report work status, and comply with safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years experience in grounds/maintenance preferred.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Mows lawns, trims edges, and operates lawn equipment per schedule.
• Picks up trash and debris and transports to designated areas.
• Plants and maintains trees, shrubs, grasses and other plantings.
• Maintains, prunes, irrigates, and caring for landscaping elements.
• Repairs/installations of irrigation and small landscape structures.
• Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
