Job summary

Western Colorado University is seeking a Grounds & Nursery staff member to maintain and repair campus grounds, athletic fields, roads and sidewalks. The role operates irrigation systems, supports events, and performs snow removal and equipment maintenance on a variety of vehicles.

Minimum one year of related experience is required; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with strong computer literacy.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant experience in grounds/maintenance work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong overall computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as mowers, sweepers, tractors and snowplows.
• Irrigates lawn and grounds and maintains irrigation systems.
• Performs maintenance on trees, shrubs, and other plantings; applies herbicides and fertilizers.
• Patches asphalt and concrete as needed; moves furniture and equipment for events.
