Job summary

Washington State University in Pullman is seeking a Grounds & Nursery Services Specialist 3 to manage an assigned 51-acre area of landscape and hardscape on East Campus, including high-traffic areas near research facilities and the Alumni Center.

The role involves planning installations, planting, pruning, weed control, operating turf maintenance equipment, irrigation work, and occasional evenings or weekends for events; requires valid driver's license and pesticide applicator license within six

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; two years’ experience in gardening, youth programs, or grounds maintenance preferred.
Two+ years’ experience with grounds maintenance procedures, plant material identification, and horticultural practices.
Must have or obtain a valid driver's license by time of hire and meet driving standards.
Possession of a Public Pesticide Applicators license within six months of hire.
Two years’ experience operating grounds maintenance equipment and various hand/motorized tools.

Responsibilities

Maintain 51 acres of landscape and hardscape with high-visibility areas.
Plan landscape installations, plant, prune, and weed manicured beds and landscape areas.
Operate motorized equipment for turf maintenance, irrigation, and snow removal; perform installations/renovations.
