Job summary

Washington State University is seeking a Grounds & Nursery Services Specialist 3 to manage a 51-acre area on the Pullman campus. You will perform landscape maintenance, plant care, and operate turf and irrigation equipment with limited supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2+ years in grounds work, plus a valid driver's license and a pesticide license within 6 months. A flexible schedule may include evenings or weekends for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years in grounds maintenance or related work.
• 2+ years in grounds maintenance; plant knowledge and care.
• Must have a valid driver's license by hire time.
• Pesticide applicators license required within 6 months of hire.
• Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned 51 acres including landscaping, pruning, weeding, and beds.
• Operate motorized turf equipment and assist with irrigation and renovations.
• Support on weekends/evenings for campus events as needed.
• Plan installations and perform maintenance on landscape areas.
