Qualifications

• Knowledge of groundskeeping and basic horticultural practices.
• Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of grounds maintenance equipment.
• Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Skill in the analysis of problems and implementation of solutions.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assess campus grounds for maintenance needs and follow planned designs.
• Mow grass, trim weeds, plant seeds, bulbs, and foliage; apply mulch and pine straw.
• Operate lawn equipment and large vehicles used in grounds maintenance.
• Maintain grounds equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Shovel snow/ice and assist in parking lot repairs as needed.
• Support a clean and safe campus environment and other duties as assigned.
