Job summary

The Marist University Grounds Department is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain campus grounds, lawns, and exterior areas including parking lots, trees, shrubs, and flower beds. Duties include snow removal, event setups, and routine maintenance of irrigation systems and equipment.

Minimum four years in grounds maintenance and snow removal are required, with NY driver's license. This full-time role is on Marist Main Campus with a 40-hour week and day shift hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of experience in grounds maintenance and snow removal.
• Verifiable skill or experience in the use of heavy equipment required, lawn mowing equipment, general knowledge of tools and their use related to landscaping and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to work overtime due to adverse weather conditions, heavy workloads, emergencies, and/or at the need of the supervisor and Marist.
• Must hold a New York state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install new lawns and landscape as assigned.
• Maintain all existing lawns, fields, flowerbeds, hedges, trees, and shrubs.
• Apply pesticides and herbicides under the direct supervision of a licensed applicator.
• Responsible for garbage pickup on campus.
• Informs supervisor of any repairs needed in assigned work areas immediately.
