Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, located in Fayetteville, NC, is seeking a Groundskeeper to operate, maintain, and repair lawn and grounds equipment and perform routine grounds maintenance for the medical center and satellite facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid NC driver’s license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Duties include landscaping inspection, equipment servicing, and assisting in safety compliance.

Qualifications

3 months on-the-job training to become familiar with groundskeeping duties.

Responsibilities

Determine means and methods to accomplish tasks, securing tools, materials, and estimating time.
Service and maintain grounds equipment.
Inspect lawns, flowers, shrubs, and trees for pests.
Perform periodic inspections of courtyards, landscaped areas, beds, roadways, sidewalks and parking lots.
Perform snow and ice removal as required.
Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems and equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance and recommend improvements.
Complete assigned grounds duties promptly and on time.
Complete scheduled staff training and in-service for facilities and Life Safety systems.
Observe safety practices and wear protective devices.
Other duties as assigned.
