Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to perform outdoor physical work in varying weather.
• Willingness to learn equipment operation and safety.

Responsibilities

• Cuts lawns to maintain neat turf.
• Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape or remove damaged parts.
• Applies fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides to lawns and plants.
• Rakes, bags, or burns leaves as required.
• Cleans grounds and removes litter.
• Shovels snow from walks and driveways.
• Spreads salt to prevent ice buildup.
• Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
• Waters lawns and shrubs.
• Repairs fences, gates, walls and walks.
• Pains fences and outbuildings.
• Cleans drainage ditches and culverts.
• Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
• Makes minor repairs on equipment like mowers and spreaders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
