Job summary

Miami University in Oxford, OH is seeking a Sr Building and Grounds Assistant (Groundskeeping) to perform grounds maintenance and event support on campus.

Hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with a 40-hour workweek. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of technical experience; a valid driver’s license may be required. The position is hourly and benefits eligible, with a criminal background check as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Performs groundskeeping tasks, including mowing, trimming, raking, removing shrubs and trees.
• Assists in the set up and break down for events; arranges tables, chairs, and staging; moves technical equipment.
• May set up and operate technical equipment including lighting and sounds system.
• May operate moving equipment including fork lift and high lift.
• Picks up trash and/or litter from University buildings and/or grounds; empties trash receptacles.
• Performs custodial or groundskeeping tasks which may include mowing, trimming, raking, removing shrubs and trees, sweeping, mopping, dusting, or vacuuming.
